We use the STEAM curriculum approach for all age groups. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. STEAM preschool activities are designed to engage children and challenge their thinking.
Our infant classes are supervised by experienced and caring staff. Each day, they read to the babies, talk with them, show them flash cards, nurture them, play with them, and shower them with love. We encourage parents to bring pre-made bottles labeled with their child’s name. Please ensure that all items sent—such as bottles, lids, formula containers, pacifiers, and clothing—are clearly labeled. Each baby will also need a sleep sack. Every child has their own crib and set of sheets, which are washed daily to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
Between 18 and 24 months, little ones begin walking confidently, eating table foods, and interacting more with their peers. Our colorful, self-contained toddler room provides the perfect environment for this stage of development. It features dedicated areas for art and sensory play, dramatic play, physical development, and open space for movement and exploration.
Music and a variety of interactive learning tools help expand their horizons, even at this early age. Toddlers also engage in our theme-based units, tailored to their developmental level. Daily notes keep you informed about your child’s activities and progress.
Lessons for these students take place in short intervals to keep them engaged as they build new skills and prepare for the next stages of their education. They have fun exploring various centers throughout the classroom and stay entertained through dramatic play, music, dance, and literature. We incorporate our engaging thematic units with this age group to make learning both fun and meaningful
We prepare these little ones for kindergarten by keeping them actively engaged in learning all the essential skills they need to progress. Most of their learning is hands-on, interactive, and designed to cover all areas of the curriculum, including reading, math, science, and social studies.
They work on pre-writing and early reading skills while also developing important social skills they’ll use in everyday life. We use the Frog Street Press Early Learning Curriculum to guide their development and ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
The Frog Street Press Curriculum contains research based, fun, hands on lessons that are thematic and encompass literature. It is one of the leading early childhood publishing companies for children’s books and resources. We follow Louisiana content standards and all of our programs are approved by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Research shows that children who are exposed to reading at an early age excel at a faster rate throughout their school career. We read to our students often, and expose them to literature-based activities each day. Our teachers plan for the week using set curriculums that are approved by owners or directors. Parents are made aware of the week’s theme by receiving a copy every Monday of that week’s plan.
